Yeah, Chinese food. It was big, real big, at least 3 times out local portion; good,as long as it is not Subway!! and cheap, 90 over dollars(dont convert lar...) for 8 fellas where by some of us eat double. Full, satisfied and at least something different!!!

28-8 chinese restaurant - nice food
big? and nice!

Deja vu, thats the word and this is the incident that pop out of my mind when we had the exhibition match during Z'Liners Challenge: APAC Organisers, Referees, Coaches and some of their cha bo national players vs Knocked-out team: Team Malaysia. Crap~

Crap it was.

Came late. (as we jumble up the time with some other event.)

No goalie suit. (have to borrow from the host.)

Kena sabo by James. (Chindian got pretty mad. Emo guy ma, what to do?)

Out numbered. (as the others got confused with some earlier decision making.)

Score? Lets just forget about it. Cuz its a friendly and we got beaten and I forgot the score or maybe i didn't want to remember. Too embarrassing...

IFF big shot with The One

Well, as for the rest of the world, game on.

Singapore beat Korea again in the semis. While the Aussie Seniors narrowly beat their Juniors.

3rd/4th placing, U19 vs Koreas. It was a thrilling match as the score line was pretty tight. Korea lead for most of the period, concede 2 in quick succession in the third period but fought back with a crucial equaliser and then ended the contest with a 11 second sudden death goal(by that #5). The are one tough nut to crack.

The Kimchi-do of showing gratitute.

The final showdown was Singapore agianst Australia. With Singapore as the stong favourites having won 2 finals in a row coming into the game. It was a hard match but it was mostly Singapore all the way with their stong build up play and lethal finishing as the Australia fail to put several curcial chances into the net. Orkids thriumph 5-3.

Bonus Commentary: The All Star Team
Goalie: Koreans flamboyant #1 Lee Young June, likes to shrug his shoulder everytime he saves. A what I like to call "Is-that-the-best-you-can-do" challenge pose.

Defenders: Anthony Boteler the playmaker defender of Aus, always at the right place at the right time. And #2 Kim Sang Ki of Korea. Don't be fooled by his height! He might be short but he is damn fast and he'll buldoze you like nobody's business. Kim, you have my vote.

Centre: Captain Jonathon Veron of Aus. Quick, pacey feet. More of a forward than a centre if you ask me.

Forwards: Ahmad Afzal & Abdul Hafiz of Singapore. The brothers combo. Both fast, thin but tough. Hafiz the elder being the more flamboyant one, trying tricks and airhooks while the younger Afzal is more effective with is direct play. Their one touch play is so mesmerizing, and very deadly if you are not focus!

27th Aug - Operation Kimchi

Do or die. Judgment day. 1200, Korea vs Malaysia. Both teams with straight 3 loses, a 4th one means: bye bye go home shake legs. Winners takes all!!

Woke up in the morning, feeling fresh and fire up after 3 games, 3 loses and 3 trashings.
"Come on. Our fortune can't be take bad?"
"Well maybe were totally lousy and plain lucky that the score didn't break to 20?"
"Crap~"
"Last game liao, die die lar... Today cramp also must run!!!"

last time singing = last chance= last game

IMG_4483
We can win. We gotta win. We must WIN!!
(We didn't win... T_T)

Well, Malaysia got off to a good start. Scored a goal. Defended the lead for the whole of first period. The score line was a great achievement considering that we concede at least 3-5 goals in the first 20 minutes in previous games.

However, taking into account the fact that the Koreans were playing half press compared to the others that full pressed and the difference in the level of technique and tactical discipline of the other teams, the score was nothing to be brag about.

In fact, we should have taken advantage of the space allowed and finished off the chances, or we would live to regret. And we did...

Taking the lead & celebrating for one last time...

IMG_4501
#10 missing a glorious chance.
"Still young lar."

Our lack of finished turned and punished us.

Second period. Face off. Goal.

#5. I'll never forget #5(as against Aussie U19 in the Bronze medal match, he score another goal, 11 seconds into sudden death). Few seconds into the game, the Koreans equalised. All the hard work erased.

Needing to win the game to qualify for the semis, it turn into an end to end game with both teams coming out to take the lead. The Koreans to advantage of the first goal, built on the momentum and got the second as we were caught of the heels by their swift counter attacking. We had our own chances but with lousy finishings and missing a penalty, who to blame but ourselves??

IMG_4510
"Alamak?!?!"
Penalty saved by All Star Goalie

Coming out of the third the Koreas pressed as if they didn't used any energy during the first two as they came on us hard and strong. The defensive started to crumble as goals creep in slowly one by one.We just couldn't cope with the constant pestering of the Koreas at and their pacey attackings.

In the last moments with our last throw of dice, we push up high hoping for a miracle and awarded the "Kimchi-mers" free passage to our goal. 1-5. We are shaking legs for the next 3 days...
