I feel like an old man.
It has been a day since the grueling 21km PBIM 09, what a disappointing campaign. The primary objective was to run non-stopping until the turn like last year. This year was much shorter, 21 compared to 25, shouldn't be a problem.
It felt good after the first 10 mins and I kept on myself by breaking out from our pack of 3(Chris and Merv), but on the way up the slope, the knee starts to kick in, alerting my pain sensory. Crap. Gave in when I hit the water station on top, chilled as I walked for 200m before restarting the engine, catching up with the pack again as they overtook me while I halted.
The pain reoccurred and was getting severe. Crap. I must at least finished the first half before I stop again, I told myself. Push on and endured the pain until we arrived at the next water station and that's the end of my Bridge Run...
I didn't wanted to give up so easily at first, so I executed plan B, which was walk and run. However, I only managed to survive for 2 laps, before the pain was to much to bare as I hit 15km. Damn.
There is no way I am going to sit the bus!!
I was seriously annoyed and disappointed but my knees just seems dead. I couldn't even walk at a fast pace as any tweaking or bending on the knee would cause me hellish pain.
Finally, after nearly 2 hours of leg dragging, I managed to finished the run, still below 3 hours. Nothing worth celebrating. The much anticipated free flow Milo and 100plus just seems tasteless, damn potong steam. haiz...
Back home, all those little little routine never seems so troublesome before. Getting out of the car, changing cloths, standing up fromt the chair. Every little minor movement on the knee stuns me for a few second. Even changing body positions while sleeping makes me think twice (reminds me of my previous sun burn) Going up the stairs is by far the worst!!!
F! I feel like an old man.
Probably need to go see the doctor...
