Ever Ever After
Storybook endings, fairy tales coming true
Deep down inside we want to believe they still do
In our secretest heart, it's our favourite part of the story
Let's just admit we all want to make it too.
Ever ever after.
The Castle
Like a castle.
High walls, circled by a channel.
Tough yet secretive.
Distant and unreachable.
Like a castle.
Full of maze, secret passage all around.
Misleading the unwanted penetrators.
Delaying the caring visitors.
Like a castle.
Dark eerie corners, scary to walk through.
Yet surprises inside galore, wanting to be explore.
Only beware trespassers, god bless.
Too long has it stood.
Distant from humanity.
Recluse and unapproachable.
Uncared and unmaintained.
Small patches enlarge, shallow holes deepens.
A gush of wind and a brick crumbles.
A rush of rain and the sink overflows.
A tiny spark and the fire burns.
Too long has it stood.
Maybe an intervention is what is needed.
Let the wind blow.
Crumbles a brick, then the tower.
Let the rain fall.
Overflowing the sink, then flood inside out.
Let the fire burn.
Fire to blaze, then everything to ashes.
And then after every piece of the castle is gone.
And then it is in peace with all that surrounds.
And then it is an open space.
And then a glance will see through from one end to the horizon.
And then a chance to revive anew?
